Atal Bihari Vajpayee
You can remember him as a great poet who mesmerizes the audience with his words or as Former Prime Minister who led India on the forefront of global dynamics. Atal Ji legacy is such vast and huge that cannot be covered in thorough words.
In India, People often talks good about the person who died but Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji was different from rest. Today when we see dirty politics he had no enemies at all. Across all the parties he was the go-to Man.
All about Atal Bihar Vajpayee
He was in Parliament continuously from the year 1957 but I will not talk about his political achievements rather I am more keen to share his legacy.
Today, we should reflect on ourselves that what we can learn from Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Legacy which Atal Bihari Vajpayee left
Let’s talk about the legacy he left behind.
Courageous son of Bharat Mata took bold action of Nuclear Test in Pokhran. Let me remind you it was inevitable that such an activity will enrage the western countries especially the US.
Vajpayee Ji was Atal in his decision his thoughts was Such kind of enrage in western countries will be only for a short span of time but the impact by making India nuclear prosperous will for the long term. Time flies and now 20 years later, we can proudly say that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was exceptionally correct in his vision and leadership.
Lahore, Agra, Kargil
These words describe his potency as a National Leader. We all are well aware that during his regime at the centre we won Kargil war despite backstabbed by our neighbour. Winning Kargil war was no cakewalk at all. Pakistan had clear geographic advantages.
The credit of starting New Delhi – Lahore Bus Seva goes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He showed the world, the intentions of India by this initiative. Thereafter Kargil war, He invited his counterpart Parvej Mushraff for Agra Summit. By inviting Pakistan for Agra summit, India showed willingness and concern to build peace and reduce tension on borders.
Jamhooriyat, Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat
Kashmiri people still remember him for his policies on Kashmir. No Indian leader has been loved by Kashmiri people than Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is quite surprising to know that even today people recall his time despite the fact being he comes from the right wing party like BJP.
You can imagine his initiatives that even Our Beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi recall Atal Ji during his Independence Day speech from the Rampants of Red Fort.
For Kashmiri people, he framed this phrase by saying ‘Insaniyat (Humanity), Jamhooriyat (Democracy) and Kashmiriyat (Identity of the people of Kashmir)’.
Policy on Pakistan
Atal Bihari Vajpayee policy on Pakistan needs to learn today. He took many bold initiatives such as New Delhi – Lahore Bus. In his speech, he talked about his wish to have a stable government chosen by aawam of Pakistani people. Vajpayee urged Pakistani people to choose a stable government which can give them development, peace, prosperity. After his speech, Pakistani Prime Minister famously said “Vajpayee Saheb, ab to aap Pakistan Mein bhi election jeet sakte hain (Mr Vajpayee, now you can win elections even in Pakistan).” He never ordered to stop the bus service even when Pakistan Army attacked us in Kargil war.
Every government formed on the big mouthed promises and often delivers poorly. Indian people used to hear such a slogan like Roti, Kapda or Makan but Vajpayee government went further provided Bijli (Electricity), Sadak (Road) or Paani (Drinkable water). UPA government shamelessly rename all his projects and took credits. It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee government which produced report card of government. He will be remembered for accelerating Indian economy.
We might get tired to write and read about his legacy. Such is the hallmark of Great Leader. I had a great opportunity to meet him personally when I was in school. That moment only I sensed something is truly miraculous about this person. – Article By Deepak Jha
