Engineering (Technical) Courses

Non-Engineering courses

Eligibility for ITI Courses:

If you want to do ITI courses then you will be eligible at three stages i.e after passing 8th, 10th and 12th.

Basic eligibility criteria for the ITI courses are:

Applicant should be passed in 8th,10th (Matriculation) or 12th (Inter) from any recognized Board/University.
The minimum age of candidates at the time of admission into ITI Courses should not be less than 14 years.

Note: You can take admission in few courses even before 14 years.

The maximum age of the applicant should be below 40 years. Age relaxation will be given for reserved quota students.
For enrolling in most of the state government ITI colleges, Candidates will have to appear and qualify in the sate ITI entrance exams.

Duration of ITI Course

ITI Courses have been prepared in such a way so that candidates can get maximum technical (practical) knowledge in limited time. There are different courses available in ITI which has different course duration. We can broadly be classified ITI Courses into several parts.

6 Month course
9 Month course
1 Year course
2 Year course
3 Year course

ITI Admissions Process:

ITI Admission Process varies in different colleges and courses. It depends on the type of course and colleges you chose to do.

There are two ways to get into the Admission in ITI colleges.

Merit-Based: For most of the ITI Colleges, you will have to clear the written entrance exams. Based on the performance of the written test exam, Merit-list will be released. All the qualified candidates will get a chance to take admission into desired ITI Courses.
Direct Admission: Some of the ITI Colleges, offer admission directly based on your performance in last class performance i.e (8th, 10th or 12th). If you have a good percentage in class 8th, 10th and 12th then you can get direct admission into colleges.

Important Tip:

There are lots of good ITI Private colleges, but you should try to get admission in Government Colleges. To get admission into Government College, prepare sincerely for the respective state government entrance exam.

ITI Course Fee varies in India depending on the college and courses. The tuition fee for ITI Courses in India varies from 5 thousand per year to even 50 thousand per year.

It is a common understanding that Government Colleges charge lesser tuition fees compared to Private Colleges.

Average Tuition Fee for Government Colleges is 6 thousand per year.
Average Tuition Fee for Private Colleges is around 22 thousand per year.

Note: Students may have to pay for the exam fee extra along with some other additional fee per semester. You may need to pay an extra Rs. 500 to Rs. 1000 per semester for exam fees.
